The G.M.A.A believes that persons with sufficient training and skills, regardless of their current grade levels, can carry out the INSTRUCTING of Self Defence. They do NOT need to be of Back Belt level.
Even if they are of Black Belt status, this is no proof that they can teach Self Defence, after all their grades will be in whatever Martial Art (s) they have trained in. Take some one for example who is ex-military, been a prison officer and has worked the doors. This person may have lots of experience and skills in real Self Defence, but may have NO qualifications.
We can provide these qualifications through the G.M.M.A. Self Defence Instructor Diploma Programme.
Another example would be someone with a Brown Belt in Kickboxing or Ju-Jitsu for example. They too can take the G.M.M.A. Course and TEACH self defence under our banner with our full backing and support.
With regards to becoming a member of the G.M.M.A. this can be done in two ways. One is by simply joining as an individual member BEFORE deciding to take the Instructor's Award. Or secondly by attending one of our one day Instructor's courses and if successful the G.M.M.A. membership is automatic and free with the Diploma.
As a registered G.M.M.A. Instructor, you will be entered onto our database and any enquiries for Self Defence classes from your area will be directed to you. You will be provided with our full backing in any way we can give it.
The Combative Instructor Course Award can be obtained in TWO ways...
• By attending one of our regular one day courses at G.M.M.A. headquarters and if successful you will automatically become a registered Self Defence Instructor as well as becoming a member of the G.M.M.A.
• The least common way is as a current member of the G.M.M.A. and working through the grades in our own unique Self Defence System. Then on reaching the rank of 1st Dan you will automatically become a registered Self Defence Instructor.
